Bamford the custom made watch company has just opened their first store dedicated to high level male grooming products.
Enrico Galliani from Crawford & Gray Architects had the challenge of transforming the small historical building into an elegant store. He said, “We have been looking for some time for a shelving product which could offer full flexibility and integrated lighting. Pixalux answered perfectly to these requirements and their illuminated shelves integrate beautifully into our design.”
All shelves were illuminated on both sides, throwing light on to the products from above and below. The shelves are supported on adjustable brackets built into the side panels, which also serve to provide power to the shelves. This means that the shelves can be moved up and down without having to worry about electrical cables. Pixalux UK worked with the joinery company and the project was installed by Purple Shopfitters. The store manager stated that this was the easiest display system she had worked with and loved how the products were well illuminated.
In this case the architect specified a warm white 4000 kelvin colour temperature for the shelves with an attractive black profile edge which worked extremely well with the dark wood work. Pixalux panels are totally different from any other LED panel on the market. The panels are structural which means they can be used instead of a glass shelf or MDF panel to display products. The Pixalux shelves are 16mm thick and are totally bespoke. Pixalux UK manufacture the shelves in Leeds which means that the LED panels are be turned around quickly.
